Hi all,
I masked a canopy and got distracted resulting in the poor old vac canopy lying around for a few months.
The masking is Tamiya tape. When I get round to painting soon, I'm worried that when the masking is removed it will leave sticky residue on the "glass".
Any tips on how this might be cleaned up?

Thanks and cheers
Peter

You may try Isopropyl Alcohol to remove the residue.. Being that the tape is a low tac tape this usually works...

If the mask is not on the part yet you can dip the canopy in future first before masking. Let dry completely. Mask the canopy. Then brush a little of the future around the edges of the tape. This will prevent bleeding under the mask. Then just pull the mask off when ready....

I have dipped canopies in future before masking then left the tape or frisket on for days and when it came off no residue was left at all..

Hope this Helps

Thanks Paul.
It's the canopy of the He 343 I'm building. The idea was to get this, the Arado TEW 16 and the Pig Stash Bv 155 all ready for paint at the same time...

AND the wife has the Iso sat on the bathroom shelf....

Thanks again
Cheers
Peter
