I've heard that the ones out there aren't much good so I was wondering.

AFV Club's M60A1 is very good, almost great. The only downside is that the cast texture on the hull and turret is a little overdone. I bit of heavy primer and sanding knocks it down just fine.

As an old M60A1 tanker I can second Gino’s recommendation. The AFV club kit is excellent (but the cast texture is a little heavy on the forward hull and turret. It also comes with the early tracks, so depending on time period you’re modeling, you might want some aftermarket tracks (again, AFV Club’s are excellent).

I second your comment. I've tried to build Bronco tracks and they turned out to be a total nightmare. I simply gave up on that brand.

Heard from whom? I would like to know who said this so that I can ignore what they say from now on.

The Takom M60A1 is good. It can be built without the ERA tiles as well.

That was years ago. Some of the M60A1's have been crude copies of better kits.

I’ll second that. Like it better than the AFV Club offering and hoping they would take the plunge with an A3.

Even the old ESCI?Italeri M60 A1 was a good kit although now eclipsed by the finer releases from current players AFV and Takom

All of your questions seem to want someone else to do your research for you. Your questions are always vague enough to make others do your searches, then you go to a different subject. What's up? Wayne

I third the takom kit. Can't vouch for accuracy, but I thought it went together easier than the afv kit. Downside is non workable suspension

Asking a question “if there is a good kit out there” is not the same thing as asking someone to “do a search”. Given there are different folks using this site, with varying skill levels and knowledge, asking someone a question about their opinion is way different than asking someone “to do a search”. If nobody shared their opinion because they expect the other guy to do “a search”, there wouldn’t be anything to search for. At least now, he and others interested in this topic have something to “search” for. After all, this is supposed to be a hobby information exchange site.

Also, it can be very interesting what directions these threads can take.
