Do you mean something like a Wirblewind?
Or a AA gun set on a half-track?

Thanks for your time.

Is this for the Overlord2004 Campaign? The campaign requires it be an Allied subject

I would think with the term Flakwagon, that they would be refering to a halftrack version.
I remeber reading something about Flakwagons used to suppress the allied assaults. Unfortunately though i think it was in the battle of the bulge.
Depending on how fast you require this info, i can check my book collection. I just need a few days.

I don't know which SP/AA vehicles were present at St Mere L'eglise at that time, but there are plenty of models available. Italeri & Revell have a couple of variations on the Demag & Maultier chassis, and Tamiya SdKfz7/1 & 7/2 vehicles can still be found quite easily. Any of these would have been in common use during 1944. There are also resin conversions for the Tamiya Famo and other vehicles.

Hey bud, u can really choose what type of AA gun u want ( The Ostwind was very rare ). The mobelwagen is another option, this would allow you to apply some detail to the 20mm and the crew.
Its up to you: stationary AA gun , ostwind, mobelwagen or wirbelwind or half track mounted
Good Luck- Jerm

A source I have ( Osprey, Campaigns, 'Operation Cobra') says the most common Flak vehicle in Normandy was the Flakpanzer (38t) of Pz. Rgt. 3 of the 2nd Panzer Div. There is a pic of a knocked-out one in Tessey-sur-Vire around Aug. 1st. That's some 5 wks. after D-Day, but the vehicles are probably the same. Somebody (maybe Italeri?) produced this model, but it's likely out of production by now.

Hmmm.... I've been playing Call of Duty and I saw a Moebelwagen there. It's the 20mm quad type not the newer 37mm version by Tamiya.

As I said earlier, the Flakpanzer 38 (t) was the most often encountered AA weapon in the Normandy area. Alan has a model in 1/35th - possibly a new release. I haven't started assembly yet, but on inspection the armour sides are suitably thin and in scale, detailing is quite nice (although maybe not Tamiya quality), and the 20mm gun is very nicely done (not really any need to replace it with the much older Tamiya 20mm). Tracks are link by link assembly. For anyone who can afford it, the Tamiya Marder lll M and Alan Flakpanzer 38 (t) could be kit-bashed together to make one very fine model.
