This is the Panzer Art conversion, but for the life of me I can’t figure out what kit I need to complete the conversion. I’ve scoured the internet like a man possessed, but I can’t find the correct hull / turret configuration

I think that only Asuka and Dragon makes the Firefly so you have a 50/50 chance of getting the right kit. I would go for Asuka!

The conversion appears to be an M4 Firefly so you can use most M4 or M4A1 as the lower hull donor. i would recommend any Tasca/Asuka M4 or M4A1. I cannot recommend a turret base as despite having almost every brand of 35th Sherman in my collection I cannot find a turret base to match the Panzer Art ones

You need a Firefly 1 c as the donor, Don't get a Vc Firefly as the hull will be too long

Hi James
I'm going to be a fly in your ointment, sorry...
The Firefly was based on the:
- M4 (Sherman I)
- M4 Composite (Sherman I Hybrid)
- M4A4 (Sherman V)
hence the 'Firefly IC' and 'Firefly VC' applied to their names reflecting the Sherman I and Sherman V base vehicles..
The upper hull you have has the openings for the square grill engine hatches, which is for a Sherman III - a M4A2. This is a different engine, engine deck, etc, and the Sherman III (M4A2) was never up gunned with a Firefly Turret...
http://panzerart.pl/index.php/welcome/produkt/421
It is meant to be accompanied by a different turret:
http://panzerart.pl/index.php/welcome/produkt/331
If you want to use the hull you have, I'd go for the Asuka Sherman III and use it for that:
https://www.scalemates.com/kits/asuka-model-35-018-sherman-iii--954801
Dragon also did a Sherman III (two actually, kits 6313 & 6231 ) but the engine deck grills were wrong, the gun shield has issues as well as some other minor stuff.
A great site to visit to understand all this Sherman stuff :

You could have mentioned the titles of the two kits, that would have made it a bit easier for all of us.
Firefly turret:

Hull for Sherman III:
https://www.super-hobby.be/products/British-Sherman-III-hull-with-Hessian-net.html
You can't use them together. The hull is a Sherman III (M4A2), which was never used as a base for the Firefly turret. (I've also never seen a pic of a British Sherman with a hull fully covered in hessian tape.)
Depending on what period in the war you want to cover, you can use the Asuka Firefly Vc (Normandy) or the Firefly Ic Hybrid.
Hope that helps.

Doh, teach me to look on my phone without glasses!. I thought I was looking at the Radiator housing. The DML grilles were corrected after the Tarawa Sherman and are included in most DML sherman kits as unused parts. The Asuka Sherman III is what you need assuing the doors fit the panzer art product. The turret can be sourced from same

Wow, I figured I screwed something up. Figured out what Hull the panzer art conversion is, Asuka 35018, Sherman III Mid Production, as mentioned, not a firefly. Guess I’ll check this stuff away for a while and focus on the Sherman’s I have going now. Thanks for all the help guys, I’ll refer back to this thread once I deal with this stuff again.

On the plus side you can use the hessian Firefly turret on an Asuka Firefly hull to give it a "combat" look, and then get another PanzerArt hessian plain 75mm turret for a standard 75mm-gun M4A2 Sherman III! A man can NEVER have too many Shermans...

Tom, that’s the plan, lol. I am literally working on 7 Sherman’s right now! (Among many more other vehicles)
