Not sure I'd take advice from a tank sunk up to its turret in a lake... but, the advice is still good

As I see it- neither of these, but a pair of reinforced woolen tracks with rubber padding for increased friction.
But...with summer coming soon for you guys Down Under, there are some season-relevant options too, like
