hey all, sorry for all the questions, but i was wondering what camoflauge does the wirble wind have, i know when it first came out it had the basic dark yelllow thne patches or red brown and green. my wirblewind is going to be in normandy, what camoflauge would it be, it seems to be a bit of an odd colour , i mean imagin having this buig yello tank out in the green forest of gras some where?

Hi Matt !

Feel free to use a light overspray of olive green (if anything else than yellow) and lots of trees/branches as the main camouflage. I won't use any brown; this was mostly used in spring and autumn. You could also apply the secondary colour by handbrush, as this was also practiced with the "big ones". Just remember that the colour has to look darker in the latter case.

Hi, if you want to take a look at my gallery,I have a couple of pics of a whirblewind that I built.
The base color is a dark yellow with splotches of green and a little dark red brown.
It was put on with a brush and kind of just scrubbed on.
Also if you look on www.Tankfive.net I think there is another pic of a whirlblewind in what looks like a winter camo paint. scheme.
Maybe these will give you a few ideas?

By Normandy, German standard camoflage was dark yellow base color with some combination of red-brown and olive green overspray pattern. More often than not, the overspray pattern was fairly narrow squiggly lines. The larger blotchy overspray patterns appeared to show up more frequently later. Not saying you can't use the larger pattern, but it seems to have been rare in Normandy.
