Hello.
I found this photo and I asked myself: What do I need to build this?
First one I filed under 'Beute'.
I'm intrigued by this photo.

Yeah, it's a Scammel, but which type?
And the trailer, is it only the barrel or a complete artillery piece?

Second one is also a 'must build'
Power!

White Truck, but which type?
And the tank?
What do I need to build this?

Help is needed!

Kind regards,

Robert Jan

Robert,

The trailer with the barrel on the first picture is a Rohrwagen.
Rohrwagens were designed for split transportation of heavy weight artillery pieces.

Tank appears to be an early Crusader Mk 1. Italeri makes one in 1/35th.

I would agree with Geralds answer about the Crusader Mk I but there are some slight differences. The right side armoured visor for the driver looks slightly different than Italeris boxart but it could be that the boxart is unclear ...
Italeri 6432

On the tank on the truck the front of the visor is pointed (pyramid shaped) but Italeris part is a flat slab

Correction from my side.
That is not a Rohrwagen on the first picture, but a French Canon de 155 mm GPF.
I don't know whether someone does it in 1/35th scale...

Thanks so far. I always forget that a lot of British Material was left on the beach. So the Scammell Trucks were in use by the Germans almost throughout the war. And I wish some modeling company comes up with some American Civil Trucks like the White. Also widely used by the Germans as they were captured in France in 1940. Don't think 1/35 scale models are available for this one.
The Rohrwagen is sold-out and way over budget by the way...
Thanks for the help, I'll keep googling my way through the net.

Kind regards,

Robert Jan

Hi Robert
It is definitely a Crusader Mk 1. They did have the pyramid type driver's revolver port. Italeri's is a mish mash of various types and the v type is typical of later ones.

There is a photo on page 11 of the Osprey New Vanguard book on the Crusader showing the pyramid type.
