I recognize the typical haircut. So this might be one of the two heads available.But what makes the difference in these sets since there seems to be a lieutenant version and a sergeant version?

Very nice "diormama in a box," but no "slash" pockets limits this to "Market Garden" or "Bastongne," right? Certainly not D-Day.

They look like they're wearing the M1942 jump uniform, so that limits them to Normandy and a very, very few in the 82ND that wore that uniform in Holland.

No Bill, the opposite...perfect for D-DAY as they are wearing the 1942 Jump uniform as Jeff mentioned earlier.

Once again I, in my lack of background on these uniforms, am merely impressed with the quality of the figures and not where they might purportedly represent as having been deployed. A jeep-full is a great way to instant-dio something.

I own an M1942 uniform. (Wanted to jump at Normandy this year for the 75th anniversary, but had too many other obligations)

The pockets look somewhat correct from the one photo I can clearly see. However, the wider outer portion of the flap is noticeably wider than on this and most other figures produced.
The cuffs on the sleeves are totally wrong. The reinforced elbows look close - they appear to me to be rounded off at the corners when in reality they have 45 degree corner cuts. And the seams are fictional.
It's always interesting to me that figures such as these all have the reinforced elbows and knees. This was not the case. It would not be inappropriate to delete this detail if you want some figures to have a different, yet correct look.
Also, at least two of these figures still have their lowering lines attached to them. By the time they're rolling around in Jeeps there'd be no need for them. Maybe the one odd guy out of a platoon. Maybe. No paratrooper carries anything unnecessary to the fight - extra weight, a nuisance, and downright dangerous if you get hung up going into a room full of bad guys.
What I'd LIKE to see is a Hawkins mine or two. Not everyone wore one on their leg, but the option would be nice.
