Not sure if this is old news or has been posted before---for those HMMWV builders who thought that they have built nearly every version, here is something new for you to try your scratchbuilding mettle on. (I'm not affiliated with the Hollywood SFX company).

I bet that with all the experience the IDF has with modifying armor to suit their needs, they made the main gun on the HMMWV capable of firing...

After reading "All female unit," then looking at the pictures clearly showing men, it didn't make any sense. Then I read the part about training other units. So they aren't opposing forces, but mobile training platforms for tank training?

The unit is indeed a training platform for various regular and reserve formations. Depending on the scenario, they can be imitating opposing forces but I wouldn't say that's their primary task. The unit was formed to provide realistic training of tactical combat scenarios on the field without the need of actual AFVs (not just tanks, they're also used to imitate softskins, APCs, HAPCs or D9s).
