Fuel barrels slide molded? If so one set of seam work less to do.Are we going to see Hobbyboss revisit some of Trumpeters "original" releases of T54/55 in a similar fashion to this one? Could be interesting if they do.

Great to see another company hop onto the T-54/55 Type 59 bandwagon. Looks like a more friendly alternative to the Miniart kit for my fumbling fingers and fading eyesight.
So many made in so many varieties plenty of room.

The Tank Man Tanks have a bore evacuator near the middle of the barrel (bulge on the barrel) which the early Type 59 does not have. The early Type 59 has a bore evacuator bulge near the muzzle.
This is a Type 59-II (hard to tell if it is exactly the same type as the TMT)

I thought the Type 59 basically was a Chinese built T-54 with no modifications.

The "straight" Type 59 without additional letters or numbers is indeed a Chinese manaufactured clone of the T-54A.

Any idea of a release date? I hope they redo Trumpeter's earlier attempts at a Type 79, 85-II etc.

Hobby Boss listed it as released as of Sep 2019. As with Trumpeter, give it 2-3 months from such date before it hits the shelves / online shops.

So no Tank Man Tank kit? I searched eBay and Sprue Bros and didn't come up with a suitable kit. Could I post-date the Miniart kit with a 105mm gun? Does someone make the gun as an AM part?
