I like their 1/24 scale stuff (was looking at the SWAT offering) but it seem little bit expensive for 1 or 2 figures...

The brain will usually fill in missing letters and read the rite wurds fer misspellings.

I read it as CIA and only later realized the I was missing. But I suspect that's what was intended. Criminals in action, er Central Intelligence Agency.

I guess you could go Jason Borne like but I would think it is more like CA attached to SF. Sorta like the Lioness Program.

The 8th Psyops Group (Airborne) and the 95th Civil Affairs BDE (Airborne) both belong to the US Army's Special Forces Command.

Many of their officers come from SF and many of their specialist NCOs (medics and communicators) also come from SF.

So, the little vignette here is could easily (and accurately) represent a CA team with an SF NCO. (Although there is nothing that directly indicates either of their MOS's - they could just as easily both be MPs or water purification engineers on a CA team.)

However, it's not totally unknown for an SF team to get one or more CA or PSYOPS soldiers attached to it for some particular operational period. A female attachment would be pretty unusual, though, and would suggest a very permissive operating environment (which is not the same as a benign environment) with the team operating out of a fairly well established base.

Are the 1/35th figures legit troops or private military contractors? The press release on other web sites suggest they're supposed to represent contractors.

The 1/24 SOFs have the MP5 as a recycled weapons sprue---that is my main complaint as the M4A1 replaced the MP5 in U.S. SOFs due to the lack of stopping power. I would have at least cast another M4A1 for the kit or used a UMP45.

Problem is that her vest is MP5 skinny magazine pouches so it won't be easy to just swap out the MP5.

Other than that, the sets look neat and would be very welcome as modern plastic figures. I see fun building them.

Would it be more accurate to say that the MP5 is used a lot less, and therefore is more uncommon than, the M4 in US SOF in the period depicted by the kit?

Just a little caveat emptor, the weapons and gear shown on the box art are NOT at all what is included inside.


I'll have to get a look at the actual box contents before buying the new Spec For/PMC set.
Fool me once..

Their subjects are pretty interesting, the poses and molding 'decent' (not resin quality, but workable), but if I'm going to have to go spend $$$ on Live Resin bits to get the gear pictured, I should have just gone to Live Resin in the first place.
Sure, they're better than the ICM Afghans by a long shot, but..

I'll get over it, and probably buy a box or two and I should just let it go, but..

You can go cheaper and buy Trumpeter 1/35 guns. I find the Trumpeter M4 RIS guns just as decent as the Live-Resin ones and probably a bit more robust.
