Heat with hair dryer or hot water. Bend to proper shape and hold until it cools. Might take multiple attempts.

I read of a technique (that I havent tried yet) here last week, suspend the item in a container of water, without touching the actual part or sides of the container and heat in a microwave until water boils, this should allow the part to resume its correct shape, when it has, immerse in cold water and it should then retain its correct shape.

Sounds plausible, but as I said I haven't tried it yet, but I have a .50 cal in an Accurate Armour Land Rover set that needs attention.

Happy modelling

If you have a Dremel tool, chuck one end in the dremel tool, and put the speed controler on very very low, hold the other end with a round pin vise, heat with a hair dryer and pull both ends gently ( Don't pull to much, you'll strech it out of shape). Remember, you must have the Dremel tool at very low speed, about 200 RPM or lower. Try it with a scrap round piece first until you get the right speed you can control.

Good luck

Word of caution!!!

Do NOT... I repeat NOT put the part in boiling water.... unless you want to melt it. Trust me - resin will melt long before you get to the temperature of boiling water.

I have used ordinary hot tap water... I just turn on the hot faucet... let it run until it gets nice and toasty... then hold the part under the stream for maybe 10 seconds or so. Pull it out and test bend it back into shape. It might take several dips in the hot water...but better to err on the side of caution than leave it in too long. Keep a glass of cold water handy - so once you get the part to be correctly shaped... dunk it in the cold water to lock it into shape.

Hiya Jack,

warm water or a hairdryer on low temp would be the way to go for correcting those lil bent outta shape resin sections.. it's worked well for Me on My Verlindan M-113 so far.. an trust Me on that monster of a chunk of resin ya speend more time in the kitchen then on the bench...lol as for Collectors Brass I have a couple sets of thier 50cal. and 30cal. and they are solid gold.. I found them at a contest several years ago. I had heard rumors that they were sold or bought out so I'm not really sure.. best advise I can offer on CB is to snoop arond on model sites that advertise to be able to find the hard to get items.. and really snoop the contest vendors areas. other then that.. I couldn't tell you. but they are very sweet looking and paint up and weather very nicely.

well good luck man

Chris
