In the instructions for the above model it gives you a colour clear blue for the periscopes but they are solid plastic as with the body of the tank.
How do I do justice to the periscopes with regards painting.
There is one piece of acetate for the star light.
Anyone help please. Thank you

The M60A2 had thick, clear glass that had a green tint. To represent this, I use Testors Model Master Clear Green. First I paint the optic black, then two coats of the clear green, then two coats of clear gloss. This gives it the depth and the look of thick glass.
I use a similar technique for newer, laser-coated optics as well, but I use clear red. This gives it depth and it changes colors from different angles, just like the real thing.

Hi Gino thanks for advice not sure if I'm getting this right.
Where the lenses are supposed to be it's been left plastic. I did think paint silver then the clear green over the silver??

You are correct. Where the lenses are is just solid plastic. I find the silver undercoat to be too light with the green. That is why I start with black.
