Taking a breather from Shermans (waiting for decals and parts) and tinkering with a K1A2. There is a sensor on top of the gun mantle. From photos it looks like an antennae of some sort. ( read the tank has an IFF system. This an antennae for that? Or an optical system?I'm trying to figure how to paint it. Also, anybody know how the cover for the TC's sight system operate? Doesn't look like it has a hinged cover. Rotating one?

According to this, it's an Active Protection System.

As for the TC's sight, it's definitely not hinged. I'm not sure it has a cover. Looks like the same as on K1A1 and K2.
