Would like input guys... I have these components that have been sitting around for a while and want to put them in this dio.... I will need info to realistically portray a crashed BF109, any other ideas/thoughts on stuff to put in or change around, ground work etc?
I plan on adding skid area and debris breaking through the hedge with plane nose down on side of the road, German troops behind the wreckage waiting to ambush

Sorry... pics not working, will update with pics later today.

Components of the dio are not in place, only set on it.

Looks very promising, but the scales of the tank/figures (1/35?) & the 109 don’t look to be compatible without my specs on. If so suggest considering the more realistic 1/32 versions of the plane

Based on a quick google search of BF-109 crashes, you could easily get away with minimal disturbances to the ground. Skid marks and such might make the scene more appealing but not necessary based on the available pictures.

Even damages to the airframe itself could be minimal based on available historical photos. The most common features in the pictures were the bent props and missing canopies.

I do agree with Tim, the scales look a bit off for the components.

I think you have a great concept for a diorama and look forward to seeing more on this!

German troops running across the road directly in front of an oncoming Sherman? Not likely. Running parallel to the road using the hedgerow for cover, much more believable. There are not many 1/35th scale aircraft kitted, so you're pretty much stuck with 1/32nd. Difference won't be that noticeable, especially with the 'smaller' vehicle in front, and the aircraft behind it. Al

So I shoulda gone to Specsavers! OK then here’s a crazy idea – if the plane’s skidded to a halt just short of the hedgerow (which incidentally should be much taller and on both sides of a narrower road if this is Normandy bocage) with bent prop etc., you could have a couple of Germans peeking through the foliage as spotters, and another leaning into the cockpit ready to let loose with a full broadside when the dozer’s alongside…maybe call it Surprise Attack

Good idea... I did plan on increasing the height of the hedge
