What would be an appropriate size for sandbags in 1/72 scale?
I want to make a quantity of these using DAS air-drying clay, and add them to the hull and turret of a Sherman tank.

Would the seam appear like that or would it be folded inside out from what is shown so excess sacking from seam is on the inside?

I would leave the seams on the outside unless explicitly ordered to turn them inside-out.

But then again:


Doing the seams on the outside is probably a lot more work than having them on the inside so I think you can go for smooth bags

I made them from a Celluclay type product I bought at Hobby Lobby. Sculpted together on the rear of the tank then coated with white glue.

I wasnt in ww2 but I was in Viet Nam . filled more than my share of sandbags . They were different in that they were nylon. but , in combat ,no one gave a dam if the seams were in or out .Maybe in peacetime but not in a shooting war .

Exactly! You are supposed to turn them inside out so the seam is inside, but if you are in a hurry, tired, or being shot at, you don't care about the damn seam!
