I have Cyber Hobbies kit # 6512 , the Pzkfw D Vorpanzer. My question is can this be made into a DAK Panzer 4 with the parts in the kit or are their pieces I need to aquire?

Since it appears to contain the tropen engine grills, yes it can be used as a DAK Pz IV D. Leave off the "Vorpanzer" parts as well. I've looked at a ton of photos over the years and it appears that extra armor made it's appearance in Africa with the Pz IV Ausf E used by Panzer Regiment 8. No photos of any Pz IV show the added turret armor in N. Africa.
