Greetings,
I'm trying to experiment with hairspray chipping. Many of the U Tube and online tutorials recommend pump (no need to decant obviously) hairspray - odorless - matte - medium hold. After a diligent search, I have yet to find a hairspray, pump or aerosol that meets this criteria? I trust someone can recommend a specific brand version that works for them? Greatly appreciated, thanks.

I just picked up some no-name brand. I did look for ‘fine spray’ aerosol.
Works fine.
It’s cheap. Experiment...

Aquanet Pink can. It's what all the hair bands of the 80's used.

So after you spray, do you try to scrub all of it off, or just the areas that you want chipped? What affect does unchipped hairspray have on a finished model?

Clarence - Aquanet Pink can.
Joe - You spray a base color, then the hairspray, then the second color. Then you scrub away with a wet brush where you want the base color to show through. So there is no exposed hairspray.

All depends on what your project is and why your using chipping. A cargo bed or white wash would look better imho if you did the whole area otherwise just in select areas. As long as base coat and hairspray layers are dry/cured then I have not seen any effect the hairspray has on the top coat if you don’t remove the hairspray.

Aquanet to be sure... the travel size is the most economical to buy and experiment with. Tres is also pretty good...

So there's no residual texture if you don't scrape it off?
Cool!

Nope, the hairspray is under the second coat. Watch the YouTube link I posted, Michael covers a number of questions.
