Started building this, and am running into a couple of issues I need advice on, and I'm sure there will be more. This kit has a boatload of little bits
The tracks are individual and sort of snap together. However the connection isn't very strong, and falls apart if moved. Do I just treat this as one big set of "links" and glue them together and shape to the wheels before they set?
Is there any proper paint scheme for the interior of the cab?
Is there a good reference for this?
Thanks in advance for any input.

Dave,
I suspect John Lindbom might pick this up; he built a fantastic Kondensator back in August last year; see:
https://www.armorama.co.uk/features/7903#comments
Even if he doesn't you could always PM him through the site.
I have the kit in my stash but am some way off starting it so this will be an opportunity to garner what I can.

He’s referring to the 2B1Oka. The 2S4 and 2S7 were built later and used a different chassis.

Ahh! Thanks!
Such a kit would be cool. Could need a lead ballast in the rear end to keep the barrel from tipping it forward ...

it seems as there isn't all that many of the members here who have actually built this beast and probably even less have any useful reference material.
I'll give it a try with the tracks:
I would glue the tracks solid but NOT one single length and try to drape it around the wheels. This is more or less doomed to fail. I have never succeeded at least ...
Make one straight piece to fit under the road wheels, short sections to hook from the first and last road wheel up to and a few links onto/around the idler and sprocket wheel. The top run is the tricky one since it needs to have sag molded in, it starts with two or maybe three links onto the sprockets and ends with two or three, maybe four links hooking around the idler.
Almost all of the sag is in the top run with very little in the sections rising from the road wheels up to idler/sprocket.
Start with the bottom run and the rising sections and get those in place. Make a sufficient length for the top run. The sprocket teeth will take care of that end so you don't need to join it with the rising section.
Join the top run with the rising section at the idler, add or possibly remove links so that it reaches one or two teeth onto the sprocket, if the sag looks god then the problem is solved otherwise add or remove a single link.

Other Soviet vehicles had green interiors but I can't say anything about this one ....

I am curious about the interior colors too. I have this kit in my stash as well. I am working on a Trumpeter AT-S. They provided a color guide for the interior. I'm considering using this color scheme when I build my Kondensator. I don't think this would be too far fetched. If it is not accurate, oh well, it's my model.

Thanks, gray, brown and black works for me. It will be very hard to see anything through the windows anyway.

Dave,
You may have noticed that I did refer you to John Lindbom's build; I am sure that if you contacted him he would assist you in any way he can. he was certainly helpful to me.

Brian, I did, but I was hoping that as you suggested, he might see the post, and reach out on his own. I will now send him a private message. Thanks for the prod.

Sorry Dave, I didn't mean to sound quite so peevish; I thought his build was quite outstanding and I tackled him on extra info and he was very helpful indeed. Apologies for the "prod" - it wasn't quite my intent (!)
My onw build will be some way off but I hope to finish it as a sort of mini diorama with a visit by Khrushchev (using the ICM set "Stalin & Co etc") - but I am well aware this is ambitious; in other words it might just help if I build the bloody thing first!
I appreciate you might not be running a build blog as such but any tips are more than welcome in the due course of time.
