Do any of you have any experience with Thunder Models? They have 4 models that I have an interest in,but before I buy I would appreciate some input.Thank you Ted Nichols

I have 2 Thunder models and they are both excellent. Molding, fit, and engineering are Tamiya quality or a little better. Detail is outstanding without an excessive parts count. Link & length track is finely detailed but easy to assembele - only one part per link! A full PE sheet is included, AM really isn't needed for the kits I have.

I have several, but have only built their BL 7.2inch Howitzer. Fit was good, only a tiny bit of filler, but their parts breakdown was not as well thought out as I would have hoped. Also a bit of detail was missing, but nothing unlike other manufacturers (rivets on the inside of the gun cradle, etc.

Would I buy and build it, knowing what I know now - Yes.

I have built just one, the (so called) Bergehetzer and it was fine. Small fit issues, some marks to fill and sand but nothing terrible. Would get another kit from them if I like it.

I have a few of their kits. I wouldn't say they're as well engineered as Tamiya kits, buts there is more detail. The upper hull on my bergehetzer was warped as its really thin. But easily fixed. I do like their subjectmatter.

Their series of trucks are da' bomb! Pun intended...

I likewise have no experience with Thunder kits - but a couple are certainly interesting and call me, subject-wise. So, I am in the same "boat", er, box, as you are, regarding the unknown-to-me products of this company.

The pictures and cads of their kits look pretty good, and as I said, they have some interesting subjects. That said, each time I have come across a previously-unexplored maker's line-up, I start out by selecting ONE and see how it goes. Things can look good and sound good and work out well for others but turn out to be maybe "different" when in your own hand.

I suggest maybe choosing one which strongly calls you, and give that one a whirl. If it works out pretty well, then you will be somewhat better informed about going ahead with others. I wouldn't worry about "missing out" as they are not likely to suddenly disappear!

Hey Ted and Bob that's one of the ones I have! Still in the "to do" pile though. It might just be my next to do. HobbyEasy has it on sale for $43.85. It's got 7 sprues of exquisite styrene, 3 decent sheets of photo etch, a color PE dashboard, brass chain, copper wire, twine winch cable, and resin tow cable ends. I truly believe you'll be all smiles when you open the box.

Go to eBay. Modelfactory123 will ship you one for $US 37.90.

They are actually pretty reliable, too! I've dealt successfully with them more than once and no problems.

Likely they will be my Thunder Models Bergepanzer - 38 supplier.

Bob-took your advice and ordered a late Bergehetzer from Model factory. It will probably end-up as another unfinished armored vehicle. It is a shame that model contests do not have a unfinished class to compete in.I would be a star.
