Hey folks. I'd like to share my work on this Tamiya T-55A in 1/35 scale. Would really appreciate any constructive feedback. Im planning to add a bit of chipping on the grab handles before I call her done. Thanks!

Looks good. Nicely done. Have you thought about adding fuel lines and wiring for the lights?

Hi Nigel;

It looks Good !!! In 1/35 scale armor; there is A Ton of small extra details that could add to make it all that much better ! but you have to ask yourself just how much detail that you are willing to add. You could spend many Hours trying to add the missing details, if you are willing to go that distance then that's fine. The one point that Greg pointed out is just one of many small details that could be added;! And the fine detail painting is another matter.
Hear are just some details that will make for A great subject ! Running lights, Optics such as periscopes, adding the Glass etc; detail & weathering Panel lines, Coax M.G. !!!! Reference material at times, is A must; But if not Available, the Box art will help !

Thanks mate! I built this oob but I would really love to learn how to add the wirings in future builds. I know that except for more recent manufacturers, modern Soviet kits (T-54/55, T-62s) rarely had the wiring and plumbing provided as parts. Having them on really does make the model more realistic.

Thanks Mike! Agreed on all of these points. I'm mostly an OOB builder though so I try to raid my spare boxes if I find some deficiencies in kits. I would like to own the Takom and Miniart boxing of this kit as to ensure that most of the fiddly detail parts are already in the box without needing to scratch or outsource em! There's something about the simplicity of Tamiya kits though that really makes you wanna build a dozen of them, even if they're not a 100% complete in terms of surface detail. Thanks for pointing out the missing detail though, I have a T-62 and T-55 Enigma in the stash that could use some tune up.

I'm agree, the Tamiya T55A is an easy kit that look great when build , like the one on this thread.
But the Tamiya T55A has a lot of inacuracies when compared to blue prints... (hull, engine deck, underscaled turret, first road wheel....)
