I assume they're the earliest M47 uniforms. But I wondered when they were used and how they were. So many Cold War vehicles out there with no crews for them!

With a few changes on the pockets, French M47 jackets can become US M43 field jackets or British 1950s era combat clothing.
Both were used or copied by any number of armies.
Or keep them as French for that M47, AMX-13, ARL-44, M24 etc, Indochina or Algeria or Europe--
Nicely generic with a touch of imagination and putty.

Thanks, but that sounds like super-expert modelers only. I was wondering where the figures could go as is.

I have these figures and plan to use them in a 5 Commando diorama in the DRC.

You really need to work on your reading comprehension.
See my third paragraph "or keep them as French for M47, AMX-13, ARL-44, M24..." as well as any number of French armored cars.
Practically any vehicle used by the French army 1950 to the mid 1960s. Any number of NATO armies also used the French jacket. Check period photos, because Cold War soldiers before the age of tank helmets and coveralls all look surprisingly alike.

So there is a good selection of French soldiers after all. Thanks!
