Manufacturers may want to take note.... there is interest in post war US Army atomic missiles....
A field totally ignored by almost all....
Suggestions: Honest John, Corporal with erector and equipment,
Pershing tracked and wheeled, Little John, Sergeant, Davey Crockett.
Also US Air Force missiles: Mace with Terra Cruiser, Snark , Bomarc, Nike Ajax, ( thanks to Freedom models we now have a Nike Hercules... built one very nice ! ) Matador with launcher truck... etc...Lots of possibles ...

Hi Mike,

Are you referring to those subjects in 1/35? Or a modern iteration? BTW, what Pershing model?

Most have been kitted, albeit in many scales, often "box scale." I have a 1/32 Mace with Terra Cruiser. Renwal released it eons ago and Revell brought it back several years ago. HAWK made a 1/48 Matador with launcher truck.

Martin Marietta's EPL (Engineering and Prototype Laboratory) produced an extremely limited number of 1/32 model kits of the Pershing 1A (Kit No. EPL-1) in 1973 that were given to Pentagon brass and industry big shots. It was never produced for the general public.

Marco's Miniatures produced a resin copy (MR4501) back in the early '90s.

No, I am referring to NEW 1/35 scale kits that would be welcomed by many of us..... I have the old versions all built but would like to have updated kits in 1/35

Yes it was made by Marietta for a select few.... I have been told less than 100 were made. I have been fortunate enough to have owned 4 of them - 3 I bought in the 70's for around $70 to $80 each, kept 2 for myself and sent another to a good friend in Japan.. one came with a walnut base. I lost mine in a fire in 2005 that destroyed my collection that I had amassed over 35 years ...had well over 10,000 kits.
I found another on Ebay in 2008... paid $800 as I recall.
I have the Marcos Miniatures resin copy of this... am working on building it now but it is rough -the wheels are awful... I have friends in the casting business and I may clean up the best ones and have them make me copies or I may bite the bullet and just build the original.

Hi,

I would gladly buy Cold War missiles. The above mentioned but my particular favourite is the BGM-109 Gryphon and its associated TEL.LCC and MAN tractor truck.

Another area I think may be of intrrest is the space program in 1/35.

I would love to see a Mercury Redstone in 1/35.

So, why is your thread titled Vintage Pershing Ebay sold for $2,325? There is no correlation between the title and the content.

That somebody paid two large for a Pershing missile model kit doesn't equate to anything close to major modeler interest. It just means someone was interested in owning an extremely rare kit and was willing to spend the simoleons to get it. Sometime ago, a super-rare AMT/SMP 1911 Chevrolet promotional model kit (ordered by GM to celebrate Chvrolet's 50th anniversary in 1961 and only available from select Chevy dealerships. GM had the aluminum molds destroyed) sold for over 1100 bucks. This wasn't indicative of major interest in Brass Era car models because they're still a niche within a niche.

As I mentioned in “the other post” Modelcollect makes two very nice (excellent really) Pershing missile kits with transporter-erectors— a MAN transport and a HEMMT transporter, albeit 1/72 scale, which is ok for a lot of folks. In fact 1/72 is ideal if you’re going to be collecting a lot of these “cold warriors”.

Tetra Model Works, has some PE set for their HEMMT Models, for the Pershing, GLCM, and for the M983a2 LET model kit too.

No problem and no harm done I was just mentioning it because of the confusion about topic and title of the thread. I guess we all got what it is about now
