As I understand it, the IDF had a number of M60A1's &/or M60's prior to 1973. Did these have the Urdan or the x-Sherman cupola's? The airlift M60A1's appear to have been direct to field on receipt with little or no mods.

Not sure I have seen any M60s with the Sherman cupola, but M48s definitely had them. I think from what pics I have most M60s either slick or A1s had their stock cupolas or just had the .50 removed and a field modified .30 mounted on the side of it.

The IDF received around 50 M60s and 100 M60A1s between 1970-72.
Out of the total 2.009 tanks on the eve of the Yom Kippur War 537 were M48A3s, M60s and M60A1s.

The airlift M60A1s
Contrary to the popular belief, this served mainly PR purposes as only four tanks arrived by air during the war. The first ship carrying tanks and other heavy equipment arrived during the last days of the war.

I have not seen photos of M60s (Magach 6) of M60A1s (Magach 6A) with other than the M19 cupola in photos of the YKW. Urdan cupola started to be used on Magach 6 variants after 1974-75.
During the YKW there was a field mod popular to the m19 cupola, a .50 cal mount and mg on the left side.

Yes this was the modified mount I was talking about, although I have pics somewhere of an even less refined one than this.
