I have just completed a 1/72-scale IDF Centurion Sho't (circa. 1973), and wonder how long the antenna would be on this vehicle.
Would this be the standard antenna fitted to the British Centurion, or did the Israelis have their own? Of course, if I know the actual length, I can simply scale this down to the appropriate size.
Thanks,
Paul

For proper taper, cat whiskers come in very handy.

Robert,
That is true, but I don't have a cat (and I don't plan trying to extract a whisker from my nest-door neighbour's cat!). Actually, I have a decorator's paint brush that has nicely tapered bristles … I've used these for most of my small-scale AFV antennas. In the early days, I tended to use very fine fuse wire, but these were prone to bending if anyone (myself included) accidentally brushed against them. This is never a problem with brush hairs. I'm still not sure how long the Centurion antennas should be.

IDF used the same aerial mounts as the US. I think these are MX6707. The antenna is about 3 meters.

Hans-Hermann,
Thankyou for that.
So 3 metres divided by 72 = 4.16cm (approx). That's perfect, so I can complete my Centurion now.
