Seems about normal again, but during the three days of denial, I forgot what I was looking for in the first place! 🤔🤦♂️

The site wasn't hacked. It just developed a serious case of 'too many files' which led to a bout of 'not enough temp drive space' which crashed the database. After some assistance from the hosting company it's back to normal though. Well probably a little better than normal for a while at least.
Meanwhile I am deleting silly backups from 2018 and 2019 that the control panel software was suppose to remove, but didn't. :/
Thanks for your patience all.
Cheers,
Jim

My daughter the programmer kept telling me “PICNIC Dad“. I told her it wasn’t me this time, but she insisted that I broke the internet. Now I can tell her I didn’t.

Jim keeps the site running.
I kill the spammers, and thanks to everyone for pointing them out.
My daughter has the covid-19 (basically a bad flu), I have the ovid-19 too but I only have a very slight headache and a very lightly sore throat, not even on the level of an ordinary cold.
I think that number of reported cases are WAY less then the total number of cases since most of those with mild symptoms, or maybe even none, don't get reported in the statistics.

I went to the VA Hospital yesterday which usually means being stuck on I5 between Everett and Colombia Way Seattle for up to 2 hours. From the time I got off the ferry to walking into the lobby at the VA was 34 minutes. The hospital was deserted there were only a few entrances you could go in and you were screened for flu symptoms and the given a label to wear. I was in and out in 40 minutes and that included lab work. 40 minutes later I was driving onto the ferry and that included a stop at Mickey Dees on Evergreen Way.
Seattle was a ghost town. I did get a pneumonia vaccine and a shingles vax and by the time I got home I was running a fever, my arm was swollen and throbbing, had chills, sweats and felt like I had a severe flu. The doc had told me this could happen so I wasn't concerned, just miserable. Started feelling human a few hours ago.
Probably felt worse than you Robin. Take care.

Covid 19 is only a real issue it is believed in those over 60 and those with conditions that effect the heart and/or lungs, exercise some common sense and most of you will be fine. Remember this is a lung condition and does not require the stocking of 1,000 toilet rolls that take up valuable model space and may result significant other finding hidden purchases.

On the bright side, if we do have to self isolate then us modellers will have something to occupy our time.

Saw a lady a walmart last week coming out with 4 24 roll pack of toilet paper.
And let's not become complacent that this is a disease that is dangerous to just the old. People with compromised immune systems are also at risk. Between 19 and 23 years old mine took a beating going thru chemo twice. My sister's is weak because of her battle with breast cancer and my niece's is weak right now because she had some issues that led to her gall bladder being removed a few weeks ago.
Also history has shown us many times that a virus can mutate quite suddenly going from something kind of benign to something more deadly.
So take care if you have it not to spread it and follow good hygiene habits.

Robin, so sorry to hear you both getting that. Even if your not getting hit hard by it, it must still be a stressful thing to deal with. Hope you both recover soon.
And as for the server, I am still deleting some files. However I have noted that *when* I do certain commands the number of files or directories being removed does tank the server pretty badly (meaning it slows down a lot). So I will try to do this on a nightly routine for a while (EST).
I think the ultimate move is to get us on a new server. Perhaps one with newer solid state drives. This would speed up things a LOT. I just don't know yet if hosting companies are offering that at a reasonable price.
Cheers,
Jim

I believe it is time to seriously hoard kits, not TP, during this pandemic.

I'll be calling the VA on Monday, for appts I have on the 17th and 30th of March, in two different locations. They have to prove to me that the precautions are in place concerning that BudLitevirus and crowds. If not, I'll cancel and re-schedule later. Us older Vets are a bit more likely to catch something.

There weren't that many people there when I was there, they stopped most visitors and no children under 12. There was only about 6 people in the waiting room. The day before the nurse called me and I went thru a prescreening, did I have a cough, fever, been around anyone with symptoms. The kiosks and all the coffee vendors were closed. The place, usually bustling with people was deserted. No good conversations going on.

Well, I teach and the schools are closed until the end of April. Being uncharted waters and not much lead time the upper administration is trying to figure out what to do with the teachers. Have them come in any way or just stay home. It looks like I could have some uninterrupted modeling time. My wife said now that we are off you can clean the garage some. I just smiled because that is where my workbench is...
