Started this Wednesday after I got locked in...


Revel 1/35 kit. Was the NBC Testing Vehicle but it comes w/ all the parts for the std. APC, Engineers, Medic, Etc...
I downloaded the instructing for the typical APC version an that's what I'm building.

First step in instructions is to glue the two half's of the body together - skipped that.
Suspension is a lot of fiddly parts, 4 way steering rods real pain if you follow the kits direction.
I did...



There is no interior. I'm leaving the hatchs open so you would see big empty space inside.
So I did alittle research and threw in a quick very basic interior. You wont see much but at least it wont be hollow.




Home 24/7 for the next 2-3 weeks (min). Anticipate getting alot of building in unlike the typical spring...

This vehicle is hugely overlooked by both modellers and companies. I could not believe that TAKOM released a Luchs and not a Fuchs.

There is a nice resin interior for this kit but not this time, just a filler.

Yes it is a interesting vehicle w/ alot of build options (style, country, camo, etc...).
I always wanted to build this one, been in my stash for at least 12-15 years...

Sunday always a good day for me to spend on the bench.

Little bit more progress...

Looking good! I have one in the stash that may come out for the upcoming Bundeswehr campaign. Your interior really does the trick - and the chances of getting any AM stuff at the moment is nil since nothing is moving out there. The skies in east London are empty! At least I can hear the birdsong now...

Minor update and warning:
Glued on the tools, exactly per kit. Tools did not line up w/ mounting holes, no room, etc...
Looked at some of the pics I found on-line. Whole passenger side layout as fantasy.
Everything had to come off, fill holes and sand it out...
Its not major but alot of build time became fix time.

Passenger side tool area fixed.
Driver side stowage done. Had to replace tow cable, too perfect, did not look right.




Finish few more parts and its off to the paint booth.
Colors? Not sure yet...

Good work on the "Fuchs" until now. I have build mine some years ago as an SFOR TPz 1. About the colours, that are NATO standard Bronzegrün, Lederbraun and Teerschwarz. The RAL Code No. are 6031, 8027 and 9021. I use Vallejo paints and in their range the paints are numbered as 71249 (Brown), 71250 (Green) and 71251 (Black). Hope this helps.

Added TOW. The old ITALERI Weapons of the World, w/ the giant launch tube. Think only Danish (or Donuts) used TOW on Fuchs.
Research required.

Q: I rarely do Rubber Tyres - Paint System / Process for Painting?
EG: Seal, Prime, Acrylics, Oils, Etc.

Looking good. Whatever you decide to do with the tires, make sure you paint and seal the styrene rims really well. You don't want the rubber from the tires in contact with the styrene. Takes a while, but bad things will end up happening...
