Hi gents!!!
I have the 'What the...' dio on hold as I´m waiting to buy the Humvee conversion.
Meanwhile I´ve been working on two aircrafts, a 1./32 Bf-109G6 and a 1/72 Bf-110C4.
But now I´m working on a new diorama, using what I've at home. I´ll try to make something like this:
I´m using a piece of roof mate (this is how we call it here), styrofoam and sawdust. For the figurines I'll use a Caesar Miniatures (Modern US elite force) that I have.
This is what I've done by now
Sculping rocks. The blue line on the back is where the Chinook will be placed.
Primed rocks with acrylic paint
Rocks almost done and some sawdust applied
And a small preview with some figurines.
That's all by now. Thanks for watching!!
BTW, I hope you're all doing fine.
RegardS!

Nacho,
Sharp Gustav you have there. Ground work is interesting. The canopy of the Bf 110 looks great.
Are the SF figures soft plastic types? I have several 1/32 sets of one-piece figures from long ago that I paint and put in dioramas. I will be watching.

Hi Frederick!
Thanks for your kind words. I'm glad you like both planes.
Figures are soft plastic, indeed. Not a great quality, but they were difficult to find them (I used them in a previous diorama) at 1/72. Thanks for following!

No way, J. I wish I could modelling like most of you here. Very appreciated words anyway, very supportive. Thanks a lot, my friend.

Cool planes Nacho but I’m really looking forward to seeing the Chinook, not enough choppers on this forum! Great start

Tim, Cheyenne, thanks for your interest.
The Chinook has just landed at home:
Will start with it ASAP, but I made a big mistake: I have no crew I'll try to find something in the storage room.
Meanwhile, I´ve made some progress on the terrain. I´ve added some more spare rocks, and created a path, similar to the image's.
And this is a overview of the Chinook display
Let's continue with it. Thanks for watching!!

Hi friends!!
Some advances, mainly the Chinook. Finally I could find a Revell NATO pilots set from a previous project. This is what I have done by now
The crew. Not very detailed. They wont be visible once the canopy will be fixed
I had to remove the original tanks to change for the bigger ones.
And the supossed location for the chopper
No more by now. Hope you like. Have a great Sunday!!!

I’m sure I’ve seen that last image on the wall of the Museum of Contemporary Art…valued at around $55,000,000 – nice!

Tim, thanks for your apreciation. Very appreciated.
Some more updates on the Chinnok. Too many gadgets in the lower side, as on the upper.
First paint coat. I was quite lost about what color to use on a 160th helicopter, and I decided to try with Tamiya XF85 (rubber black). And surprise, I'm quite satisfied (poor quality picture, sorry)
Preshade and second paint coat.
And last pictures, semigloss coat applied and some panel liner applied. I also have added the exhausts.
I still have to add the refuing probe and some more weathering, decals, door gunners......
I hope you like it. Thanks for watching!!
Edit: I can't make some pictures shown. I don't know why

Question for all, would you paint the nose in matt black, or I leave in the same color as the chopper??

Hi!
I've been working again on the helicopter, looking walkarounds and getting some ideas. One of them was to add the APU exhaust, so I tried with a small sprue and drilled.
Here is placed altogether another scratched piece, the Sniper seat.
Next was to give the helicopter some weathered panels, even any new. Not a good picture, poor light outside w/flash
I was thinking about add some wiring for the chaff/flares dispensers, hoist, etc, but I didn't dare with it, very tricky.
Today's work has been the rotor and blades. I'm quite happy with the rotor looking.
I had a setback. The pilot decided to go for a walk and I had to reopen the cockpit to place a big drop of cyano on his butt. He promised not to leave again.
This a overlook of the scene
I have also seen on the walkaround that the refueling probe has some kind of anti slip on its top. So I tried to make it with a soft sandpaper I have. I cut one piece for the rear and front of the probe.
The front piece is not very polished, but I couldn't make it better.
Thanks for watching.

Hi again my friends!
More advances on the diorama. I found some seats and I decided to put them into the helicopter. As the seats are very simple, I decided to improve the rear with some styrene rods.
And placed on its place
Next, I started to make some bushes for the berm. I used the same technic as I used in the Red WIngs diorama for making trees. But I have used wires instead of rope (I threw it away a few weeks ago), sawdust and white glue.
SOme pictures of the scene before finish the bushes, but with the terrain done (the Chinook is not glued yet)
And now with the bushes done and some figurines already painted
And that´s all for now. I hope you like it. I have to finish it soon 'cause I´ll be back to work in one week.
Thanks for watching!!!

Well, I think it's done.
I have finished the figurines (I made 3 'last hour' figures) to fulfill some empty space. A friend of mine is saying to me to add an
afghan shepperd I have, but I don´t know yet. What do you think, guys?
I have shot a few pictures with the Nikon and using a Hindu Khus picture as background. I hope you like them.
I couldn´t shot on manual (don't know why ) so I haven't shot the pictures I would have liked.
Now, I'm going to try to advance in the What the...? dio.
Thanks for watching and following the thread.

Hi Nacho
this is a good construction, some pictures, from the height of the eye, are extremely realistic, the helicopter dominates the scene, thanks for sharing

Absolutely magnificent Nacho, and that’s a sensational backdrop! Please forgive this unsolicited contribution but I hope you’ll enjoy playing spot-the-difference with your 2nd & 3rd photos, they were so worth enhancing…
By any chance were you trying to slow down the shutter speed because you had a hair-drier ready to spin the rotors?

Tim, thanks for the kind words. I guess you mean that in the 3rd pic the blades look like moving?? But no, they are still, in fact the front rotor is glued and doesn't move. But maybe I will try this evening to loose both rotors and make them move.

I'm especially impressed by the exhaust finish. Model Master buffable metallics? And the discoloration of the Choppa looks very prototypical. Nicely done.

Thanks buddy. Thanks for your help during the building, thanks for your pictures and thanks for your kind words.
The exhaust is painted with Tamiyas, X32 Titanium Silver, X9 Smoke, X23 Clear blue and X26 Clear Orange, airbrushed at low pressure and making a fade. I´m glad you like it.
I´m working on a new helo. I'll post pictures soon.

Hey Nacho, NO I air-brushed out the monster rotor shadows cast on the backdrop! Anyhow good to see you’re doing another small-scale chopper, looking just as cool
