Why indeed? Well, my wife is a speech pathologist. I once built her the old Lindberg Nose/Mouth model so she could demonstrate what articulators are. Just for fun I built her the Ear kit as well. Lindberg might have produced some pretty questionable kits in their day, i.e. motorized (rubber band powered) Stalin tank among others, but these kits are actually quite good, especially if you take care to use putty and do all of the things you'd do with any other kit.

I can see the Corona Virus model being a perfect tool to show the protein receptors and how they attach to a host cell. Will everyone purchase one? No. But whenever a new obscure variant of a PzKpfw is announced, I don't ask what for, I just move on to something more interesting. Makes for a more stress free life.

At one of my LHS they had plush diseases and viruses.They look more to me as a fun teaching tool for younger children about such subject but never seen anything like them before after nether.

My daughter would love it. She is an R+D chemist at a pharmaceutical. This is the kinda stuff that fascinates her. OTOH she would probably count the bumps (rivets)and tell me it is inaccurate.

My niece is a nurse in a COVID ward. Her kids are a little too young to appreciate it, but if they were a little older, I'd be all over this kit. It seems rather more scientific than in bad taste, to me at least.

I have to say that seems like one of their weaker models. The wheels especially don’t do it for me. A shame as it really is a mighty cool truck.

I'll wait until someone comes out with a decent photo etch set to go with it.
