Marketing is the name of the game.
Wow, yeah, it's almost as if they FINALLY invented glue! After all those years of us using just spit, water, and good faith for modelling...![]()
But I mean, the market will show how many of us will buy it because its all new and shiny...

Sorry, but am I missing something here? AK are in business to make money and offer products to modellers. They already sell paint and finishing products, why not a glue line? And yes, marketing is everything and they have to sell themselves. Tamiya, Humbrol, Revell, Testors, Vallejo, etc. all have paints and glues in their product line, so why not AK? AK doesn't make any money off of us buying Tamiya or Testors glue. And we all should realize that around the world, not everyone has access to the same product lines. While some may have easy access to Tamiya or Humbrol or Revell (depending on distributors), others may have easier access to Vallejo or AK. Prices also vary from country to country depending where products are imported from and it might be cheaper to buy AK products then say Tamiya products in some places.
Just my 2 sense, but I don't think we should automatically just jump on a manufacturer for expanding their product because we think it's a dumb idea. It's not your money, and if you don't want to buy their product(s), then that is your choice.

Ethylacetate
5 litres, appoximately 1.3 US gallons
Capillary action: check
Fast: You bet
SWMBO-factor: She can't complain, the stuff is part of the acetone free polish removers
Large surfaces: Yep, capillary action will suck the solvent into every joint.
Improved fit of parts: Certainly. The capillary action thingy requires a good fit between parts so I have to make the parts fit before I try to "glue" them together.
Ease of application: Yep. Use a small brush to apply solvent to edge of joint, capillary action will do the rest.
Possible to glue/weld hard to reach joints: Sure, just extend the handle of the brush. The metal sleeve on most brushes can be bent to make a tool able to reach behind corners. The sleeve can be glued to the end of sprue runners to get angled handles.
Cheap: Close to $100 for 1.3 gallons. Split it into small bottles and do the maths yourself
