Hey folks! Hope you're all doing well despite the circumstances.
I'd like to share my nearly completed Trumpeter KV-1 mod 1942 with the late welded turret (1/35). I built this kit for the Trumpeter Campaign 2020. I tried to base my weathering off reference photos. Less rust and metal chips, more mud and grime over the hull. Not too happy with the tow cables - they look too springy and weightless but I have seen some photos of them being like that. Might leave them off.
Constructive feedback is again highly appreciated. Thanks for looking!

Tow cables that big ARE horrible springy things in real life. They have a mind of thier own. Yours look great, so does the model. Good work

A fine job indeed! Really like that faded whitewash.

Very nice! I hope you're open to some thoughts, though. The photos showing the top of the tank reveals that all of the 'panels' are too uniform, in that the centers are all 'clean' (relatively). I would consider adding more randomness to those 'panels' because, to my eyes, it looks 'planned' and not natural. Similarly, the turret numbers are surrounded by a 'clean' area around them; why? I would add more whitewash to those spots.
I really like the tracks...I think you did a great job on those, including the hull-mounted spares!
You say you're not that pleased with the tow cables. I think they are wonderful! I'd keep them as is, really.
One last thing...I'd add some soot around the exhausts on the hull. Don't go overboard...just a bit, but I think it needs some black and dark brownish pigments.
I would be proud of this, if this were my model. It turns out that I have the 1942 Lightweight Cast version of the KV-1 in my collection. I'll be pleased if mine turns out nearly this well!
Really nicely done!
