I’m building a miniart bulldozer for Pacific island diorama. Where the bulldozers the seebees used blueish gray or standard army Olive drab ?

Having forwarded the same question 18 months ago I got the answer that both colours were used, but also the original yellow ones were present.

Here's an example :

"A Seabee Caterpillar D7 medium bulldozer goes to work at the Construction Battalion Training Center, Camp Endicott, Davisville, Rhode Island, in the fall of 1943. (U.S. Navy Photograph.)"

Would it be fair to say that Frenchy has a "photographic" memory"

Great pic, thanks for posting it. I do not want to start a major conflagration with this question, but do we think that it is green or grey? I can convince myself of either depending on how I look at it, but I am leaning toward a very dusty green. Yellow is right out!

One of the markings options in Miniart U.S. Army Tractor w/Angled Dozer Blade kits #35184 & #35291 is for a grey Seabee dozer from Camp Endicott, 1942 :

Same place as the one in the period picture...

Jumping in a little late with this but this picture was taken in a USN Seabee museum. It's a painting on an interior wall. I didn't see a plaque describing the painting but the locations written on the dozer and the dates on the tree indicate WWII era.

Hope this helps.

The only Yellow dozers I saw in Nam belonged to RMK/BRJ, the civilian contractors who built a lot of facilities over there. We had a concrete plant by our motor pool that was operated by them. Wayne

But I'm digressing....

I don't know what type of bulldozer this is, but it looks like camo would be an option too.

In my research, I found that most were OD green, but there were some grey ones.

Today would be the 100th birthday of my late father-in-law Ralph Miller. He was a SeaBee in WWII, serving in Co. C, 83rd SeaBee battalion in Trinidad, the Philippines and China. I built this CAT D-7 dozer in his memory.

All of the Rome Plows that I trained on and was around were D7s. I have seen pictures of D9s, but never was around any, so not sure if they were just there for evaluation or what. Like I said, the contractors had the normal Cat yellow equipment. Wayne

It's up to you then...The linked page is (apparently) from the Vietnam Landclearers' Association website, but the site hasn't been updated for years...I have no problem accessing the page from my home computer and from the one I use at work. Looks like they've moved to Facebook :
https://www.facebook.com/groups/VNLCA/

Anyway you don't miss much, as the picture is very small Here's the caption "Off Loading Cat D-9s. Note: Plow on left has a bent blade, caused by hitting a land mine during a cut."

Ok, that's what happened then. Their web space probably expired and someone else took over that domain.

When I click on the link, it opens a new tab then I can see the pictures but then this web page (armorama) goes haywire and redirects to a page where I can have a dialog with a young looking female in a chat room. If I click the 'Back' arrow to go back here it keeps redirecting me to their seedy areas.

And just to be clear I didn't mean any negative criticism toward you, just warning about the link.
