Which set of engine grill look more authentic?
Top ones are Aber and bottom ones are Hobbyboss.

Well, for my useless opinion lol.... I would go for the bottom ones, the mesh squares look like they have a more realistic spacing than the top ones...

I prefer the top ones. The mesh looks more like mesh. The bottom "mesh" is unrealistically flat. Plus the top ones look more like there is mesh being secured underneath the framework rather than being part of it.

I do think the Aber set have a tighter weave,just want some opinions before I install them.

Also, if you look at page 5 in the tank destroyers campaign, there are a couple of shots of a Jagdtiger engine deck and the oblong grills which may help give you a better idea.

The top ones look more in scale and look woven. The openings in the bottom set look to large and if scaled up would probably be half the width of the palm of your hand. Too large and defeating the reason for the mesh in the first place.

I would use the Aber parts for the raised screens over the forward vents, as these had a tighter weave and a heavier gauge wire--since they were raised, they had to be strong enough to be walked on. The flush-mounted screens had a looser mesh and finer wire, since they were intended mainly to keep out leaves, not satchel charges. The Hobby Boss mesh has a more open weave, but the apparent thickness (gauge) of the wire is pretty thick, so I would go with another brand for those.
