Hi All, I'm looking for the color of a Falklands War era Scorpion. What green and black was used?

Tamiya Field Grey has always been a good match for the green.

That was my old unit George in the Falklands, the B Sqn,Blues and Royals. It was a standard NATO black and green. Tamiya is a very good match. I have just been doing this Scimitar for my Golden memories campaign.

Thanks George, ..... I had heard the same as what Robert said about the field gray, but I tried that and NATO green, and after spending 22 years on UK armour, in my opinion, NATO green is the near match. But, its what you are happy with that counts. Happy to help if you want any info... If I can remember lol.... In all, we took 4 scorpions down there with 4 scimitars and a Samson recovery CVRT.

The Tamiya NATO Black and Green are near spot on matches, but I find I have to add about 10% white to both to get it perfect.

The colours fade very quickly in the field.

You may or may not be aware that the CVR(T)s used in Corporate were different in terms of several features to what Revell/AFV Club provides.

I’ve been working on one for ages so may be able to provide a few steers if that would help.

When it kicked off, the Blues and royals were not the lead reaction regiment at the time and had only been back from exercise about 1 or 2 before invasion occurred.

The then commanding officer went (possibly phoned) the Army CGS- Chief of the General Staff - and guaranteed him that if he let B & R's deploy as the lead recce unit, he would have the required vehicles ready and prepped within 48 hrs. Which he then did,
the 9 CVRT's as mention before.

We also had one wagon down that made dual claim for bringing down a Argentinian Pucara with his 30mm Rarden.
