I'm planning to convert a Tamiya M-48 to a IDF version (1973)
I have the 105mm gun and tracks, but the sherman commanders hatch is to small and there are gaps around it ... any way to fix the problem

Make a "washer" from styrene sheet to fit the hole for the hatch in the Tamiya turret roof.
CD-cases are made of styrene of suitable thickness, the insets in the older types (the non see-through type) has a structured surface, looks a little like no-skid surfaces.

IDF Magach 3 Conversion set /w stowage (for Dragon M48A3) DEF Model DM35037
Already have the storage, gun, etc, the problem I have is the size of the hatch
They do have the IDF Urdan Cupola set for Magach tank DEF Model DM35074, but I haven't seen/found a 1973 M-48 pic with the Urdan Cupola

So the M-48 did have urdan cupolas during the 1973 war?

I'm not quite sure what that does. You've still got the notches to contend with. Easiest method: Remove the tabs as shown, fill in the notches.
The cupola fits without a "washer" of any kind.
I've done a few of this, and this won't be my last. Israeli M-48's can keep you busy for years.

I thought the hole was too big for the hatch
