Hi all,
after a somewhat extended hiatus of almost five years (time flies ) I'm finally getting back into the hobby.
So anyways, I have this Trumpeter M1117 on my workbench, which I'm planning to build as a vehicle belonging to 18th MP brigade 709MP as seen at JMRC Hohenfels between 2017 and now, in 3-tone finish.
But what was intended as an easy in between-project grinded to a halt lately, as I discovered that the camouflage pattern for the ASV has completely changed over the last years.
so far I've been able to reference the new pattern on all four sides, but there's a glaring blind spot on the upper surface of the engine compartment. So, to cut to the chase: is there anyone on here with access to these vehicles and/or references, who might be able to provide me with a clear picture of what the pattern looks like atop the engine deck?

I don´t think that the camo pattern on the real truck has changed. I rather think that Trumpeter did a sloppy research.

Ya think? When they released the sprue shots in '07 the whole undercarriage was a work of fiction. Fortunately I had one parked not too far from my hooch. Surprisingly, they fixed it.

I'd usually agree, but not in this case – Trumpeter actually did a pretty decent job here.
Their pattern very closely resembles what can be observed in all walkarounds on Prime Portal. All of the vehicles shown there, used in Iraq (and before that during KFOR Missions) did actually sport this earlier pattern. It can also be seen in the Zwilling Book on the ASV.
As far as I can tell, the change must have first occured somewhere around the 2017 mark (see:this picture ) and was carried on from there.

All right, I stand corrected!

I wish they would have used my M777 references to make a kit of it. But maybe their M198 kit wasn`t selling well?

Another company has mine, with measurements. Maybe we'll be blessed with two kits before long.
