Xact makes a T80u and Trumpeter is or will be making a T80ue. Based on your experiences with both companies, which kit would be the one you would get?

I would pick Trumpeter.
Simply for availability and price.

The inbox reviews for both kits are good.

Hi;

I have built both kits; The X-act kit is less complex than the Trumpeter T-80s do to the parts count on the Trumpy ! And if you don't like Rubber Band style tracks then the X-act T-80 is not for you ! Also the Turret on the X-act kit is kind of Strange in its construction, and you would have to be careful when Drilling the holes in the back part of the Turret for the Deep wading trunk !
Trumpeter's plastic is softer in material and you need to be careful when cutting parts of there Trees !!

The Trumpeter kits do not have the prominent turret cabling for the search light or the smoke dischargers, so unless you want to do some scratch or purchase a miniarm turret your best options are XACT or RPG. I recently finished the XACT and it was a good build; the only downside is the road wheel attachment (see link and click all images for full instructions)

and the link for the RPG kit

this looks like a great kit it has individual track links but it has a lot of photo etch.

Personally I would purchase the RPG kit as it has more going for it and cost wise the XACT seem way more expensive than Trumpeter and the RPG is only $4-6 more than Trumpeter and I feel you are getting a far superior kit.
