Do they have any special use in modelling? As I understand these artist pencils are "simply" great colored pencils, with good blending properties. However -analogously to the aquarell pencils- I was thinking maybe they have some other uses -perhaps they could be used with turpentin to create weathering effects.
I will try them whenever I have some time, but I thought I might ask. My google searches turned up nothing yet on the matter.

I would like to see the results. I have tried oil pastels for some weathering just to see how it worked. It would take a lot more experimentation to get what I want and seemed best suited for replicating stains and smearing, things regular oils and enamels are used for. Maybe offers a bit more localized control, and is convenient.
