Good news. I’m actually interested in modelling a New Zealand subject finally!

According to Thales, Bushmaster is already in service NZ SAS, as well:

This may or may not be one of them:

Yep, five, apparently. Pictured in my post, above.

Of course the kit is now out of production, difficult to find, and expensive. Typical.

Just gave away my last one, too.

The NZSAS Bushmaster is not the same as the 5.5 mentioned in the article. I guess the NZ army had some specific requirements probably from NZSAS lessons learned.
Maybe this will boost some major companies to issue a better kit than the original Bushmaster from SMA.

Hey Olivier, the “5.5” signs closely to the “MR6” variant developed to meet a UK requirement. The UK’s 22 SAS also uses Bushmasters closer in configuration to base vehicle than to the MR6 or 5.5. Horses for courses.

I must be reading different reviews to those you've seen as the overall impression I got was positive; albeit, the kit does not represent the vehicle above. The kit does pre-date this iteration by several years... maybe this will spur Showcase back into business and release the kit again, to current specs?

You'd think our priority would be some air defense and anti armor capability.

Sadly John from Showcase passed away some years ago. I had heard that another company was launching the Bushmaster in its European form. Showcase versions come up pretty frequently at swap meets over here.

Very sorry to read of John's demise; and very keen on picking up one of his kits... if you see one going, let me know, please.

There was one announced by Kinetic back in 2019...
