Interesting, I’d say more like IP M1’s, can’t imagine any plain M1’s left anywhere. Maybe headed from the Sierra Army Depot to someplace to get rebuilt, Anniston or Lima? Sierra has hundreds, if not thousands of M1’s stored up there

The interesting thing about Tehachapi Loop is that trains can actually pass over themselves. It's been done by model railroaders in a scaled down version.

Wow, that location is about 40 miles from the house.
Lots of wear and tear on display. Many vehicles missing roadwheels, side shirts, parts of skirts, and not one had a commanders cupola.
Three-color camo, plain forest green, sand, and lots of sun exposure on the finishes.

Many vehicles missing roadwheels.
Always the middle two: cannibalized while keeping the track thus allowing transport?

One of the green/camo-ones had a tan front fender.
I wonder why all those wheels were missing. Used as spares?

Yes. I only watched about half the video, but every single tank was an IPM1. Those are preferable for rebuild because they have the "large" turret like the M1A1/A2, with the larger armor cavities in front. Given that this video was from 2017, many, if not all of the tanks shown are probably M1A2 SEPv2 or M1A2C by now.

Exactly, no “new” Abrams tanks have been built since mid 90’s or so, maybe even earlier than that, they’re all rebuilds, those M1A1’s fielded way back when in Europe are M1A2 SEV’s now

Relax, the soul of your tank lives on in a new shape.
Think of it as reincarnation.

If you haven't served on a POS tank then you wouldn't understand.

That squeao is flange squeal or the flange of the metal wheel rubbing against the rail head.
These were probably National Guard M1IPs and probably from the 41st ID

One tank out of each pair on every flatcar, maybe to save weight and not overload the car. My guess anyway.
