Hi everyone!

With all the new people posting pics of their first dio, i had the feeling i couldnt stay behind
So......i borrowed a digital camera from a friend and took some photos. I know that the quality isnt super, but you get the idea.

I have been working on this diorama for almost 4 months now (whenever i had some spare time) and it still needs alot of work before it is finished. But i must say that im already very pleased with the result so far = for a first attempt
Something you cant see but is there nevertheless, is the crew of the bunker. When the lighting is good one can see them, and that looks awesome.

Please let me know what i could improve, or maybe you have some suggestions of things i could add to the dio.
Oh, just to let you guys know, i put the figures randomly on the dio; theyre not attached yet.

Thanks!

Dolf

EDIT: hehe, seems that remote linking doesnt work, so ill just post the URL (hope that works)

(if link doesnt work add a space at the end of the URL)

Looks like your host doesn't like remote linking. Ask staff_Jim for help with hosting, I thing M1Garand even does hosting...

I wanna see them pics!!! There one of the reasons this site is so great!!

That's a pretty cool layout Dolf!
I like it!!! I want to see it when it's completed.
PS: I also noted the figures and planes in the showcase in the background. Cool! Are they yours?

Nice start. I also think those bunker kits look better when they are sunk into the ground. I like the little craters on top, too.

My second dio was similar. You can see pix of it here:

Thanks for all the positive reactions! :-)
Glad to know im on the right track!

Tuga:
I first glued the parts of the bunker (its a kit of Verlinden) to the base of the diorama. Then glued some pieces of foam on the right and left side of the bunker. After that i made some plaster and poured it on those pieces till i had the small hills (plastered the whole groundwork at the same time). I let it dry for 1 - 1,5 weeks before i started painting. I gave the bunker a base coat of Medium Grey and then drybrushed with Dark Grey/Black/Anthracite. I still have to do alot of weathering and aging, but the base is there!

Kencelot:
Yup, the kits in the background are mine. Most of them are from my first years of modeling, when i was about 10 years old. I like to watch them once in a while to see the progress i made over the years
