Hi all,
As I'm nearing the end of my latest build thoughts are turning to 'what next?'
Having just had a go at 'snow' I'm thinking 'water', and had the thought of maybe a vehicle, that was too wide/heavy to cross an ancient bridge, crossing an adjacent river/stream ford crossing instead.
I've tried 'googling' european/french/german forded crossings but typically end up with UK located images.
Are such crossings not so common in mainland europe?
Cheers, ,
G

Crossings were common yes. Well documented story about a King Tiger wading the Ambleve River above Stavelot in Dec'44.
Depends on the conditions and situation,as always.

"Having just had a go at 'snow....."
Did you ever post photos of the finished diorama? I've seen the photos in the 'first snow' thread but there doesn't seem to be any completed dio photos. Maybe I've missed them? Just curious and looking forward to seeing it.
Thanks,
Cheers,
C.

G , view these pages . 806 pages of period photos of potential dios .
I recommend you start at page 806 and view backwards as some of the earlier pages are photo bucket watermarked or just old and deleted .
Bundesarchive Photos 1933 - 1945..+ all fields of WWII
You might have to copy and paste .

Hi all,
Thank you for the great links and images you've all kindly posted, however, I think my explanation may have been a tad misleading, sorry, .
By river ford crossings, I was referring to something similar to the images below.
The above are from the UK, but would similar setups exist throughout northern europe? and, if so, has anyone images I could look at, or provide a link to such images?
Cheers, ,
G
