We have a load of bunkers around where i live, because the Wehrmacht had its HQ here the laste 2-3 years of the ocupation of Denmark.

They are situated in the forrest just outside town and the all shows traces of paint.

One of these bunkers has been restored till original condition, based on recovered paintsampels surviving in the dooropenings and inside the "tobruks". Otherwhere the paint has generaly worn off.

All of the bunkers has the roof covered with soil and grass to provide "natural" camo - wartime photos and photos taken just after the war shows it to be a wartimefeature.

The bunkers are/were painted "dunkelgelb" with added camuflage of "braun" - just inside the openings were painted the typename of the bunker in white i about 1½ feet high letters.

I“ll try to take some photos of the restored bunker and of the lettering one of these days if the whether permits it ... its raining and cloudy today.

Hello Yes,

I have been busy, but here are the promised pictures of bunkers. The bunkers are situated close to where i live, and are a part of the German HQ of the Wehrmacht from 1942-45 in Denmark

They are placed inland in a forrest.

This is a restored bunker used as a museum, the colours is reconstructed from remains in the doors etc...

This is a unrestored bunker showing the original wartime paint, it is worn of on all exposed surfaces, but is quite well preserved inside - I think the dunkelgelb has turned more greenish over the years as the yellow is much more clean and sandyellow where it is“nt exposed to the sunlight and algea.

The letters designates the type of bunker - this is a 2 room "mannchaftsbunker". The next picture si the same lettering taken from inside:

This is the small opening and stairs to the MG nest - again the paint is quite well preserved:

The next picture shows the steeldoors and the conneting "Gasschleuse" between the 2 doors/entrances. The paint is yellow.

Enjoy

Hi,

At Bunker Art probably you'll find some info that you are looking for - http://home.hetnet.nl/~thirdreich-bunkers/welcome.htm.

There you have internal and external photos of german bunkers from the Atlantik Wall.
