Could anyone recommend an inexpensive yet presentable 1/35 Humvee? Preferably 4-door and open back (pickup) version. Are Revell's and Italeri's kits the same? I already tied Scalemates but there are few reviews.

If the 4-door is Tamiya. If it is a 2-door, it is Italeri, but probably not available on the market

M1025 is a hard top (nice kit), I think he is looking for a M998 4 door with canvas top so you make a cargo bed like Italeri 273 without the cargo bed canvas otherwise Italeri 6511 and leave off the uparmor bits.

Yeah...it was an Italeri one I was looking at where if you leave off the soft top you have the equivalent of a four-door pick-up. I found sprue shots but no review on Scalemates.

If you want a 4-door pickup w/top, go with the M998/Command
HMMWV (#273).

You can leave the rear area cover off since the top is two-part. You will have to build the B and C pillars though as they are not included in the kit. If you want the soft doors on and to close off the crew/cargo area, you can use the rear wall of the top part as a back wall for the crew area. If you go this route, you would not need to scratch the B and C pillars.

You will need to replace the wheels though. They are horrible on all the Italeri HMMWVs. The rest of them is pretty nice and well detailed.

I've done a couple of these as OC vehicles, and currently have another on the bench, which means it may be finished before the new year.

It does need new tires - Legend is my go to for these:

If you want a correct tailgate you can cut out the offensive one and add one from Tamiya.

The rear flap isn't really useful behind the cab with out work, especially if you want it to extent to the floor of the bed. Even rolled up it's not quite right. Easier to scratch your own.

Also the pattern of the reinforcement ribs in back is incorrect. Not quite as easy to fix:

A few more shots:

I've done walkarounds of OC vehicles at JBLM and Ft. Carson. If you want then I'll send them to you. Lots of interior detail shots to fix these kits, like this one:

Thanks for the pics Bravo. Most of the faults I'll just hide under stowage.

I hate that bar, took 4 stitches to the grape after bouncing it off a canvas clip on a highback 998 going over rocky terrain.
