The same as any model's. (1:1 ammo model is available, too...) I think it is strange, but a kind of cool model; if not very expensive I may even try to make it look like it was metal.

And you need about 70 to complete one side for a 1:1 PnzIV, so it makes sense from a business point of view, too.

If it could be filled with sand or plaster, it would make a cool door stop.

I think I'll get one. It should make an interesting painting and weathering project, and a neat "souvenir" for the model room. I don't have access to a real one.

Okay, so I just checked EBay and I do have access to a real one, but it's $200 with shipping. I'm not that rich and I don't want one that bad.

Is this just part one of a tank purchase-by-instalment scheme?

Tom may be on to something. It's gonna get really interesting when it comes time to purchase the hull, turret & engine!

Reminds me of those magazines where you get a Tiger kit with parts stuck on. the cover, for 400 issues! A 1:1 Pz4 may take a few thousand issues...

Track link? Sure why not? Agree would look cool in modeling room and a great painting opportunity, but is anyone going to comment on the 3 presumably 1/35 links and a tool? (Complete with sink hole )

BTW Avoid their site (Tori Factory) as it seems to redirect you hmm...

Thought about it some more and nah,, I'm gonna pass on collecting all the parts, since they're not likely to offer a working gun or any useable 75mm rounds.

You haven't seen the full-size IV created for a Girls Und Panzer event, by Weta Workshops from New Zealand, then?

Don`t want to see the size of the magazine that holds the turret or hull?

I remember an old comic-strip from the 1970`s. A modeller in an Donald Duck-like car drives by. In the trunk is a fridge-sized box. The inscription reads Schlachtschiff Yamato 1/1 scale. A guy asks, if the kit is in the box. The modeller replies: "No thats just the glue. The parts will be shipped by ISO containers".

It looks like VERY GOOD rendition of a PzIV/Stug III track link, and it was a difficult task. The tooth looks too large to me but there are variants. The maker codes are not realistic.
Something good for me is that if I want to display a 1/35 model on a track ling without the weight of some 7 kg ( and without crushing the contest table ! )

So, years ago, as a commander, I had access to a tank rebuild facility in Korea. They had just finished an M113 refurbishment program, and had a pile of old, worn out M113 track links piled up, ready for their final journey to the smelter. I convinced my wife we needed a few of these around the house for doorstops, souvenirs, “paper weights” and “conversation pieces”. She relented and I picked up 4 links off the disposal pile. For several years, they followed us around, stubbing toes, becoming trip hazards, taking up valuable shelf space, and otherwise becoming general nuisances around the house. Over the years, I was able to “dispose” of them on unsuspecting individuals who thought they were “cool”. The last one went to the American Eagles hobby shop in Tacoma WA, as a door stop for the front door because the shop was not air conditioned in the summer. It remained there until the shop closed. The manager of the store complained to me whenever I came in that a normal door stop would have been better, would I please take the heavy thing home— I’d just say “finders keepers” . Moral of the story— track links are great for their intended purpose, but not much else. Off the track they become heavy dust collectors and space hogs. I’d think it’d be the same with a plastic replica. But who knows, there might be some kind of diorama possibility here with 1/72 scale Pz IVs? Just my two cents worth.

True, but I know which one I'd prefer hanging on the wall over my workbench by just a couple of drywall screws!

The real ones aren't that bad a door stop -if you seldom close that door. I have a single link from a Leopard II and can attest to how securely open that door is. It practically dares you to move it without walking funny the next day.

Ok...that's different, but I would see it well as a base for a diorama or something like that

Hi,

Not the first time 1:1 track links have been offered.

I remember at least 10 years ago and probably more a company offering Panzer ll tracks in resin.

Looks cool though. If they are reasonably priced I may get a couple. They would look great if weathered.

Regards jason

I tried using the Leopard track link as a base for displaying my Leopard II A-6 kit at an IPMS club meet a number of years ago; it was okay, but as the single link probably weighs about 18-20 kg it was a case of carefully picking a part of the table less likely to buckle. Still, it did tie-in well with the kit on display.
