One thread leads to another. I see that Oshkosh Defense is fielding a new version of the HET tractor, one that is "Euro-compliant" regarding road restrictions and engine emissions.
The biggest change is the appearance (in the view of modelers anyway). The four axles are reduced to three, the tire size is greatly increased in width, and the cab now shows four doors, rather than the original two.
Soooooo, when can I expect Hobby Boss or PSM to start pushing this version out. The M1000 trailer is unchanged, so it appears.

Another minor thing that would not necessarily be modeled can be seen in the photo: In Germany turn signals (running lights more or less) stay on all of the time. I think that goes for most of Europe. Additionally they do not allow combination turn signal/brake indicators, and believe they use amber turn signals.
This from taking motorcycles to and from Germany almost forty years ago, so my memory may be a little fuzzy. That said, my Katana never was TÜV compliant as I elected to simply do away with my turn signals.

Yes, referred to as the M1300 in various publications, but only as the A1 on the Oshkosh site. Either way, an even brawnier beast...
