Greetings. The German 17cm and 21cm Kanone 18 howitzers generally were essentially the same in the undercarriage, but, of course, different gun tubes and it's associated components. Generally, when they were transported, it was done in two loads using two halftracks (commonly 12t or 18t). The lower undercarriage, which was common to both howitzer, and being the same, could transported by adding the gun limber. The gun tube was transported on a separate trailer. I have not seen an actual model kit of that trailer that was used to haul the 17cm and 21cm gun tubes, nor have I seen enough accurate photos of one to actually contemplate scratch-building one. Therefore, my first question is:
1)Is there an actual plastic or resin kit of the trailer and limber for the gun tube transport of these guns? If so, can someone enlighten me as to where I might find it?
2)If there is NOT a plastic/resin kit of this trailer/limber combination to transport the gun tubes, can anybody direct me to adequate reference sources where enough information might be gleaned to actually create one of these trailer/limber units?
I have searched a lot, and even though there are some photos of these trailer/limber combos, there are neither close enough nor clear enough to actually contemplate building the entire unit. I would prefer to buy some, if possible, but if necessary, start from scratch and make one, to go with these 17cm and 21cm howitzers.
If anybody has any information one way or the other, I would be extremely grateful.
Regards,
Mark Pinson

Mark,
'Just wanted to make sure you haven't overlooked this book:
https://www.scalemates.com/books/21cm-moerser-18-model-detail-photo-monograph-24-mariusz-skotnicki-lucjan-zawodny--102352
but I'm afraid I have no idea as to the contents.
I seem to recall that the WTS in Koblenz have the real thing; presumably, if you write to them (possibly engaging a translator if your written German isn't up to much) they would be able, in due course to assist. Just a thought.

Mark,
Check out this item:
https://www.scalemates.com/kits/precision-models-35059-rohrwagen-17-21cm--311520
AFAIR there was a limited production run couple of years ago, but not sure whether it is still available...

I‘ve bought the Rohrwagen from Mako. A very crisp resin model:

Greetings.
Wow! That's incredible that both the gun and the gun tube carriage/trailer actually still exists in it's original form at the Crimean museum. Thanks for the information.

Greetings.
Since I started this thread here, I will add this. Is there anybody out there that has the Precision Models Kit #35059 of this carriage that they would like to sell? How much would it be worth for you to sell it? Zip 61953.
Thanks,
Mark

Moreover, the tyres / tires are original, too. Incredible

There was one at IWM Duxford back in the 1990s, in the MT yard. I suspect that it is in storage there somewhere. 21cm, as I recall.
