Hi Gang,

recently watched a video from Lebaonon War with M113 mortar carriers, CJ-5(?)jeeps and Halftracks. Anyone knows about detailed pics of the M125 mortar carrier? I think the theme IDF halftracks is one fo itself. What I`ve heard the IDF used M5 and M9 halftracks instead of the M3 available in kit form. How big are the differences between M3 and M5/M9?

Almost identical, but changes in components and construction were necessary. Built by International Harvester.

Some info regarding the equipment used in '82. The order of battle at the bottom is particularly interesting. A small correction: division in Hebrew is 'ugda', not 'udga' as in the article. Also, Israel has withdrawn from South Lebanon in May 2000, not in 2001.

Is this an Israeli 81mm mortar? Definitly no M29 as stated in the text. The mortar looks like a scaled down version of the 120 mm Tampella mortar used by the Bundeswehr. A shame that the Tamiya mortar carrier is OOP.:-(

I think the theme IDF halftracks is one for itself.

The 'Marquis' AA decoy carrier is one of the more obscure variants...

...alongside the Nord SS-11 ATM carrier...

...and the 'Tsefa' mine-clearing variant.

M5/M9 had rounded rear corners. Look closely at the picture of the Marquis HT and it has the squared corners of the M3.
