Egypt has a factory that assembles standard M1A1s. Any up to date M1A1 will do as an Egyptian Abrams. They have no special features that make them Egyptian versions.

Don't the locally produced vehicles lack the uranium enhanced armor plates of the US made ones?

I am almost positive that none of the export M1A1/A2 tanks have the same armor package as the US vehicles possess.

Correct, no DU armor on any export M1A1. The only visual difference is a small Uxxx... serial number on the turret front plates. I think only Dragon has molded these. If you get a model that has them, scrape/sand the U serial number off.
