Do I need to re-register (new user name a and password) at the new site?
I tried signing in and it didn't work.
Sorry if I'm asking a question that's already been answered.

You need to create a new account.
You can use the same username and password ig you want to
(same username is good idea since it makes it easy for me to match your new You with the old one).
The account setup process includes an activation e-mail and some e-mail services hate other e-mail services so the e-mails go missing.
I monitor new user accounts and when someone takes too long time to activate (respond to that activation e-mail) I can go in and make a manual activation and then send you a message here in the old forums (barnslayer gets a PM that the new barnslayer has been activated). If I can't make that connection I can only hope that whoever created the account will come back sometime and try logging in

Thanks! I just completed the new account and activation and got confirmation.
Thanks for your help.

Thanks for the new forum! It is a cleaner design and MUCH faster than the old forum.
